Stepfamily Reality #10 - Childhood Wounds

My clinical experience since 1981 with hundreds of typical stepfamily mates and ex mates suggests a pow-erful connection between their childhoods and (a) their current family relationships, (b) the effectiveness of their child care, and (c) their kids' wholistic health and growth. Adults who survived a low-nurturance childhood are often unaware they bear up to six significant psychological wounds.

Wounded adults seem to choose each other repea-tedly, and risk wounding their kids until they choose to heal themselves. In this site, co-parent Project 1 focuses on assessing for and reducing psychological wounds, and guarding descendents from them. Significant false-self wounds in one or more co-parents seems to be one of five major stepfamily stressors.
