About Communication Sequences and Patterns

Communication occurs when one person's behavior causes a signifi-cant reaction in another person - according to someone.
        A
communication sequence is an series of actions and reactions (1) within a person (among their subselves)  or (2) between two or more people. A sequence has a beginning event ("Chuck cleared his throat") and a reac-tion > reaction > reaction chain until some local ending event ("Sharon left the room.") Three key types of sequences are (a) need- assertions, (b) conflict resolutions (problem solving), and (c) giving and receiving praise, like affirming, validating, and approving. Try mapping a communication sequence for more perspective.
A communication pattern is a series of sequences over time - e.g
. "We usually follow this action > reaction > outcome sequence when we conflict about money."
In key internal and social relationships
, use awareness to identify  your sequences and patterns, spot and reduce communication blocks, and to in-crease win-win outcomes. This is most likely if each partner's true Self solid-ly leads their personality and holds a genuine =/= attitude.  This concept is one of the communication basics in family Project 2.
